REP. PATTERSON COMMENDS PUBLIC HEALTH COMMITTEE AND VOWS TO CONTINUE THE FIGHT

I commend Chairman VanDeaver and the Public Health Committee for addressing the harm social media is causing Texas children and teens and for highlighting the need for meaningful action. I look forward to working with the committee and my colleagues in the Legislature next year to protect Texas kids.

HB 186 may not have crossed the finish line last session, but the fight is far from over, and recent legal victories against Big Tech have strengthened the case for action. In 2027, I will return to the Capitol ready to finish what I started, put the well-being of Texas kids ahead of Big Tech profits, and give parents the protections they deserve.
