(Frisco, TX) – Last month, State Representative Jared Patterson and other Republican members of the Texas House, sent a letter to every Texas public school superintendent asking them to pledge not to knowingly partner with, purchase from, or associate with vendors who have supplied child pornography to public schools.
Less than a week after sending the letter, 18 school districts had pledged their support. Now that school boards have had the chance to meet and discuss the pledge, another 13 school districts have signed the pledge, bringing the total of committed school districts to 31. Those districts are, Abbott ISD, AW Brown Leadership Academy, Bloomington ISD, Burkeville ISD, Burnet Consolidated ISD, Celina ISD, Campbell ISD, Cayuga ISD, Center ISD, Colemesneil ISD, Coupland ISD, ECI Academy, Excellence in Leadership Academy, Franklin ISD, Goliad ISD, Hedley ISD, Houston Classical, Ki Charter Academy, Klondike ISD, LaPoynor ISD, Lockney ISD, Memphis ISD, North Texas Collegiate Academy, Seagraves ISD, Shiner ISD, Slocum ISD, Southwest Preparatory ISD, Spring Creek ISD, Tuloso-Midway ISD, Waelder ISD, and Whitesboro ISD.
In addition to receiving more pledges, Rep. Patterson has also gained further support from House members, with over 30 members now signed onto his March 2nd letter.
“This movement continues to build momentum. More members are signing on, more districts are signing the pledge, and TEA is working on reforming library guidelines. Despite incredible pushback from many suburban school district administrators, east coast liberal organizations and the mainstream media, we will not stop until these graphic, sexually explicit materials are removed from our children’s library,” stated Rep. Patterson.
Jared Patterson represents House District 106, which encompasses the eastern portion of Denton County. During his legislative tenure, Patterson has authored and passed initiatives in policy areas such as transportation, public education, elections, and property taxes. During the 87th Legislative Session, he played a critical role in the passage of legacy reforms such as the Heartbeat Bill and Constitutional Carry. He has also worked diligently to support first responders, eliminate unnecessary and burdensome government regulations, and protect pets. Patterson serves on the House Committees on Business & Industry, Calendars, and Homeland Security & Public Safety. He also serves on the Texas Cybersecurity Council. His family resides in Frisco.
